Bad news and very good news for Pushing Daisies fans, straight from star Kristin Chenoweth: The final episodes, when and if they eventually air, won’t resolve all of the plotlines on the show — but show creator Bryan Fuller has an idea for a movie that would.
“It would wrap up a lot of the unanswered questions that people will have once they finally air our final episodes,” the singer-actress told TVGuide.com.
And is Fuller pushing ABC to air those episodes?
“It’s way too good to push on somebody,” she said. “You either air it and let the world see it or — you know, that show, I’m sorry if it sounds arrogant, but it’s the best thing ever.”
Fuller himself hinted at the possibility at a recent appearance at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, where he also talked about his longstanding idea of resolving the story in comic-book form.
If the movie goes ahead, Chenoweth says she’s in — and she believes her Daisies castmates would be as well.
“I’m sure that Bryan Fuller wouldn’t do it without the six main characters,” she said. “Paul Reubens was a big part of it — we have certain guest stars that are standouts that we’d want back. But he has such a great idea for it. … We all want to.”
Fuller is returning to Heroes, his former show, and has written a part for Daisies alum Swoozie Kurtz.
Chenoweth, meanwhile, is moving on to David E. Kelley new legal pilot, Legally Mad.
“My character is Skippy Pylon — I love the name — she’s the smartest lawyer in the firm, but she’s insane. She’s crazy. So it’ll be very different from Olive. It’s also going to be very fun for me to play that kind of part — someone who will just let a judge have it.”

Pushing Daisies is back on ABC last night after two weeks of delay. The preview for its next episode which is titled “Robbing Hood” has been given, showing a new murder case that Ned, Chuck and Cod have to solve after a rich old man is found dead trampled by a chandelier.
When resurrected from his death, the old man named Gustav Hoffer says to the threesome that they have to find his will. He got killed when a chandelier is shot by its thread and falls down on him during a robbery. A lawyer for the millionaire suspects his client’s death was not part of a robbery gone wrong as was reported, but rather murder. Cod and Ned have to find out who kill Hoffer, interrogating also his much younger wife, Elise, and a latter-day Robin Hood.
Meanwhile, Lily fumes as the suspicious Dwight Dixon begins romancing clueless Vivian. “Robbing Hood” will air November 26.
The show is in the middle of talks that it will be canceled due to poor viewing rating. The production stopped at episode 13 earlier this month, and industry insiders are saying that the network are not interested in stretching the show to a full season. ABC spokesperson has come forward for this, stating that no decision has been made yet.
Creator Bryan Fuller also commented, “We have heard nothing in any official capacity. Our ABC exec was on the set last night saying they are still swinging in the fight to keep ‘Daisies’ on the air. Spirits are high and hopeful and everyone here is very proud of our work and this show.”

In the new “Pushing Daisies“, “The Great Herrmann”, a famed magician whose animal assistants are being mysteriously killed off seeks the help from Ned. More about Ned’s father and family will be revealed in this episode.
Since Herrmann has been a surrogate dad to Ned’s half-brothers Maurice and Ralston ever since their father walked out on them, Ned reluctantly helps him. He, Chuck, Emerson, Olive, Digby, and Pigby become witnesses to a magic trick gone horribly wrong. Meanwhile, Dwight Dixon (guest star-Stephen Root) insinuates himself into the Aunts’ lives, but Lily is instantly suspicious of his motives.
“Oh Oh Oh…It’s Magic” will be delayed for two weeks and back on screen on November 19 to give time slot for special edition of “Dancing with the Stars” and the 42nd Annual CMA Awards.

(S02E04) “Where are you living anyway?” - Ned to Emerson
Did you realize that this week’s Pushing Daisies episode is actually only the 13th installment of the refreshing series? I forgot about it for a second or two when I told myself “About time!” after realizing that “Frescorts” was going to offer us some Emerson backstory. I guess the almost-nine-months hiatus, thanks to the writers’ strike, made us long for more details about the show’s characters. In any case, let me say this: Yay for some Emerson backstory!
So Emerson’s mother, played by Everwood’s Debra Mooney, was a famous PI who was more a friend to Emerson than a mother. It explains why Emerson became a PI but doesn’t give all clues as to why he is so secretive (the gang doesn’t know where he lives). I know a PI is more than likely to try to protect his privacy but Ned, Olive and Chuck are Emerson’s friends… one would expect that they would have least seen his place’s front door, no?
My favorite scene of the episode is definitely when Emerson and Calista performed their interrogation routine. It was hilarious while being effective. I wouldn’t have liked to be one of the persons being asked the questions as the mother and son duo was a bit frightening.
Calista’s presence didn’t offer us much to chew on (aka juicy details from Emerson’s past) but what she did provide is the needed push for Emerson to find his daughter. It’s more than likely that he will rewrite his book and that it’ll get published just in time for his daughter to pop up during November Sweeps.
Yep, that was David Arquette playing weirdo Randy Mann. It was a good casting choice for such a character. It was nice to see Ned bond with someone outside of the Pie Hole circle. And, not spoiling too much here, we haven’t seen the last of Randy but it’ll be a few weeks/months before he resurfaces.
So far, I enjoy seeing Chuck and Olive be BFFs. It will be fun to see how they try to better themselves to make their friendship work and, as I’ve mentioned in my last review, see how they deal with the aunts if one of them stops by to visit Olive. The Chuck/Olive pairing also provides new conflicts and problems for Ned to deal with. Chuck has a new friend now… maybe it’s time Ned gets a new friend too?
